Margaritaville Coming to Pigeon Forge in 2014

After several months of being on hold, it was announced today that Jimmy Buffett will open a new Margaritaville restaurant in Pigeon Forge, TN:

The restaurant,which has locations all over the world, will feature casual dining, a bar, live entertainment, and a retail store. It will be located in The Island in Pigeon Forge, which recently opened.

It’s set to open on Valentines Day, 2014.

“To say our partners are excited about having Margaritaville on The Island is an understatement. Their commitment to providing guests with a fun experience in a family-friendly environment is a perfect fit for The Island,” said Bob McManus, partner in The Island development.

Pigeon Forge Mayor, David Wear commented, “Margaritaville has locations from Key West to Montego Bay to Waikiki, so it’s a real treat to see Pigeon Forge added to that impressive list. Margaritaville’s decision to open here is a testament to Pigeon Forge’s strength as a tourism destination, and I am delighted to welcome them to town. I look forward to the entertainment, job creation and boost to the economy that Margaritaville represents.”

Buffett Plays for 75K on Atlantic City Beach

Crowds estimated at more than 75,000 took to the newly named LandShark Beach at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, Saturday, for a free concert that included a surprise 90-minute performance by Jimmy Buffett. The iconic beach musician was in his element, wowing fans with hits including “Margaritaville” and “Come Monday” while kicking-off a summer-long series of live entertainment at the hotel. The free beach concert included performances by Andy Grammer, Mac McAnally and Wilson Phillips.

Resorts Casino Hotel, Atlantic City’s very first casino back in 1978, has been reinvigorated with a total of $70 million in renovations, including the $35-million Margaritaville complex, which has infused the hotel with a fun, beach vibe much in evidence on Saturday. The Margaritaville complex encompasses a Margaritaville Café, LandShark Bar & Grill, Margaritaville-themed casino area, Five O’clock Somewhere bar, retail stores, and coffee shop.

At the touch of the button, the Mixed Drink Maker serves up 48 different cocktails (16 options per liquor type), from a Hurricane Punch to a Tropical Rita.

Spin the center wheel and choose the cocktail that grabs your fancy, push the center button and the drink is dispensed in a matter of seconds. All you need is a cup!

Not sure what you want? Give the “I Feel Lucky” button a whirl. Watch as the digital display spins and then lands on a random drink. Don’t like that choice – Spin again!

And it’s no trouble to make a double, just press down once on the Drink Strength switch and out comes a “strong pour.”

To set it up, just fill the four tanks with liquor (rum, vodka or tequila), cranberry juice, orange juice & sour mix. The machine knows what to do from there.

Buffett May Perform in Atlantic City This Weekend

Resorts Hotel & Casino, where Margaritaville just opened in Atlantic City, is hosting a free concert on the beach this Saturday. The event lists Andy Grammar, Mac McAnally, and Wilson Phillips as performers, plus a “special guest.”

Many are speculating that the special guest will be Jimmy Buffett. It does make sense as Buffett typically performs at his new properties shortly after they open.

The event is free and begins at 1pm.

Buffett Performing at Bossier City Margaritaville Opening Next Month

Jimmy Buffett will perform at the Paradise Theater on Wednesday, July 3rd to celebrate the grand opening of Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City, LA (near Shreveport).

“We are so happy to finally be able to announce our Jimmy Buffett performance,” said Barry Regula, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Margaritaville Resort Casino. “It’s been a hard one to keep under wraps!”

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 7 at 10am via Ticketmaster, with a select number of tickets available to the general public. Paradise Theater doors open at 4pm on July 3 and the show starts at 5pm.

Tickets to the performance start at around $200.

Buffet was last seen in Bossier City in February 2012, for the groundbreaking of the casino. Buffett who owns the property, along with two other Margaritaville-themed casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada and another is in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Bossier City casino will be the largest of the three.

The casino is all on one level, spread across 30,000 square feet. There will be around 1,300 slot machines and 54 table games once it is open. There will be a 400-room hotel and three restaurants. The Paradise Theater seats 900.

Construction is nearly complete on the $197 million casino and hotel resort. A mid-June opening is expected.

It’s the sixth casino in the Shreveport-Bossier area and the first new facility in more than a decade.
