Cheeseburger in Paradise is teaming up with VH1’s Save The Music Foundation to fund instrumental programs in public schools. By helping out, you can win a guitar autographed by Jimmy Buffett!

Cheeseburger in Paradise(R), well-known for its long-standing musical heritage, is calling all music lovers to help the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to fund instrumental music programs in public schools. By supporting the cause, music fans will be automatically entered to win a Jimmy Buffett autographed guitar.

Specially designed Cheeseburger in Paradise VH1 Save The Music t-shirts are available for purchase from October 15 through November 15 at all 38 Cheeseburger in Paradise locations throughout the country. All profits from t-shirt sales will help fund a teacher’s salary and musical instruments. Children’s shirts cost $10; adult sizes are available for $12 each.

Music lovers can also enter online at www.CheeseburgerinParadise.com to win the acoustic guitar with a personalized signature from Jimmy Buffett. The winner will be announced in late November.

Nadirah Shakoor’s New Album Out Today

Coral Reefer Band member Nadirah Shakoor’s new album “Nod To The Storyteller” is out today!

Nod to the Storyteller is Nadirah’s tribute to Jimmy Buffett who for the last 13 years has featured her as a part of his show. Buffett fans (affectionately known as Parrottheads) have come to know and love Nadirah and claim her as their own. The CD includes Nadirah’s interpretations of popular Buffett songs like Margaritaville, and Volcano. Also notable are two duets she sings with him including Son of a Son of a Sailor and Eric Clapton’s When the War is Over.

Jimmy the Answer to ‘Test Pilot’ Question in Pilot Magazine

Jimmy Buffett was the answer to one of the ‘Test Pilot’ questions in the October issue of AOPA Pilot magazine, the magazine of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Here was the question and answer:

Question 7. From reader Charles Baumann: Less than 10 authors have ever had their books appear on The New York Times bestseller lists for both fiction and nonfiction. Which of these authors is well known as a pilot?

Answer – Jimmy Buffett for his novels, Where is Joe Merchant? (1992) and A Salty Piece of Land (2004). His book A Pirate Looks at Fifty made the nonfiction list in 1998.
