Little Rock Concert Canceled Due to Winter Weather

December 6th, 2013

Saturday night’s Jimmy Buffett concert in Little Rock has been canceled due to extreme winter weather.

From the Verizon Arena:

Verizon Arena regrets to announce that tomorrow night’s Jimmy Buffett concert, Saturday December 7th, has been cancelled due to severe winter weather conditions, including freezing rain, sleet and snow.

The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for Pulaski County and the surrounding counties, prompting officials to cancel this weekend’s concert.

Michael Marion, General Manager of Verizon Arena, said “I’ve spoken personally to the Arkansas Highway Department, our local meteorologists and have read all of the reports and the conditions for this weekend are simply prohibitive for us to host Jimmy Buffett tomorrow night. We regret we have had to cancel the concert, but our patrons safety is always first and foremost.”

Refunds are available at point of purchase. Tickets purchased by phone or online through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.

Buffett Kicks Off Tour Leg in Louisville

December 1st, 2013

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band went back on the road Saturday night, playing Louisville for the second straight year.

The set list was similar to other Songs From St. Somewhere shows. View the full set list here.

The Courier Journal has a review of the show: “Jimmy Buffett, Parrotheads turn Yum! Center show into a beach blanket drinking party”

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band delivered more than two hours of party music, and the Parrotheads obliged in grand, two-fisted tradition. Everything was about creating a laid-back, buzzed-on-the-beach vibe, which was personified by guy fans wearing plastic grass skirts and Buffett going barefoot.

Buffett has four shows remaining this year: Minneapolis, Tulsa, Little Rock, and Honolulu. There’s still time to get tickets!

Mac Wins CMA Musician of the Year for Sixth Time

November 6th, 2013

Coral Reefer Band member and singer/songwriter Mac McAnally won Musician of the Year for the sixth time in a row at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards in Nashville.

“I’m just proud to be one of the many who live on either side of the stage and in the fine print of CD covers,” McAnally told the TimesDaily. “It’s what I’ve wanted to do as long as I (can) remember. I’m so grateful.
“I’m happy and honored and feel guilty enough to go home and practice for a week.

Congratulations Mac!
