Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band return to the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina tonight for the first time since 2005’s A Salty Piece of Land Tour.

The State has an article about the show, including some excerpts from a 1975 interview after a show at the Carolina Coliseum.

After tonight, there are two more shows in Florida to finish out the Summerzcool Tour: Thursday in Orlando and Saturday at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL.

After the five shows that went on sale this morning, all announced shows have now gone on sale and many are sold out. In fact, many sold out within a few minutes of going on sale. According to Cincinnati.com, their show at the Riverbend Amphitheater sold out in six minutes this morning.

However, a quick check on all the shows this afternoon at 2:00 pm central time revealed that face value tickets through TicketMaster can be had to a lot of the shows still. We searched each show for two tickets with any price. The following shows had tickets available:

• Mansfield, MA (Thursday the 17th show only)
• East Troy, WI
• Camden, NJ (Tuesday the 10th show only)

• Bristow, VA (Thursday the 2nd show only)

So if you tried right when they went on sale and got shut out, try again by clicking on the show above and you might still be able to score face value tickets. The primary reason for tickets becoming available after “selling out” is that some of the sales were rejected by TicketMaster for one reason or another and the tickets are then released back into the wild.

If the show you want to attend is not one of the shows in the list above, keep trying TicketMaster once a day or every other day and you might get lucky.

If you still are having no luck, then you can get tickets through reseller sites like Stubhub, TicketsNow, TicketNetwork, or eBay, but you’ll have to pay substantially more than face value.

The Tennessean has posted their full interview with Jimmy Buffett from a few days ago that was featured in this article about his new Margaritaville Cafe in Nashville.

In the full interview, Jimmy discusses how important Nashville is, and how deep his roots run there. He also talks about why he hasn’t played Nashville in several years (because they closed the outdoor venue).

On performing at the new cafe when it opens, Jimmy says “There’s always that chance. Let’s just say the track record, if you look back, I think I’ve played every one of them. The only one I haven’t played in is Panama City, and I’m going to do that pretty soon. I’ve got to do it when I come in and out. And it’s fun, it’s fun to have people you see there and to go back and do them. I was a bar player from the beginning, and I still kind of think of myself as a bar player.”
