An advanced screening for the movie “Hoot” was held Thursday night in Irvine, California at the Edwards Orange County Spectrum Theatre.

The event was simulcast live to theaters across the country. Those who were in attendance were treated to a Q&A session with Buffett, Carl Hiasson, Will Shriner and select cast members. Buffett then performed with Mac McAnally and Ralph MacDonald. They played “Good Guys Win,” “Volcano,” and “Margaritaville.”

“Hoot” will be released to theaters on May 5th.

The 3rd annual Key West Phest will be held in Erie, Pa on July 21st and 22nd. Confirmed so far for Friday are Sunny Jim White, Key West Express and the Peter Mayer Group. Saturday will include Uncle Jim Mayer, Key West Express and Club Trini. After the shock of Buffett ticket prices this year, we are keeping our cost the same as last year, absolutely FREE. Fire broke out Wednesday morning at the Jimmy Buffett-owned Cheeseburger In Paradise restaurant on Indianapolis’ south side.

Jimmy Buffett was at the restaurant for its grand opening in Aug. 2002. It was the first restaurant in a growing national chain.

Jimmy Buffett was the third most requested event for the 1st quarter of 2006 on the Ticketmaster Chart.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul2Soul II” tour came in first and Billy Joel came in second.

South Carolina Parrot Head license plates are getting closer and closer to reality, according to the Augusta Chronicle.

The Senate Transportation Committee on Wednesday voted to authorize a special “Parrot Head” license plate in honor of the nickname singer Jimmy Buffett gave his fans, with proceeds benefiting Alzheimer’s groups in the state.

Rep. Skipper Perry’s bill has already passed the House, but needs approval from the Senate and Gov. Mark Sanford to become law.

If the bill becomes law, South Carolina will join Virginia as the second state with an official Parrot Head license plate.
