Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Cafe in New Orleans will close on June 30th, but reopen later this year or early next year in a new location.

Today Margaritaville New Orleans announced that the restaurant, bar and live music venue will move from their current address at 1104 Decatur Street to a new location on upper Decatur. The new venue is currently in the design stage, with construction scheduled to begin later this year.

“We will always have a presence in the city that gave Jimmy his start. Margaritaville has had an awesome 22 year run on Decatur Street and we are not done yet,” said Bret Brown, Margaritaville’s Director of Domestic Operations. “We have made the decision to vacate our current location on lower Decatur before completion of our new property in the interest of making way for another namesake live music venue, BB Kings, to become the next tenant at the historic Storyville Music Hall location.”

Next month, air travelers moving through Miami International Airport will have a new dining option: Air Margaritaville restaurant.

The Jimmy Buffett-inspired Margaritaville eatery is set to open this summer on the second level of the airport’s Central Terminal, offering a menu of island-themed seafood, burgers, salads, sandwiches and tropical drinks.

Both restaurants will be located before security in the Central Terminal, giving all airport guests to access to the new offerings.

“Margaritaville and Viena are ideal fits for our airport customers and our community,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González, in a statement. “Miami is the front door to the Florida Keys and the Caribbean, so the laid-back island lifestyle that Margaritaville represents is very familiar to locals. Likewise, Brazil is MIA’s top international market, so bringing in a popular brand that has served Brazilian diners for 40 years is a move that’s sure to resonate with our customers.”

The restaurants will be run by a U.S.-based subsidiary of Brazil’s leading multi-brand restaurant operator, IMC, airport officials said.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant was originally planned to open in March, but will now open in “early fall” according to their official website margaritavillesanantonio.com.

The restaurant is being built at San Antonio’s Rivercenter Mall on the famed River Walk.

Margaritaville San Antonio is already looking to fill a few positions, including Restaurant Manager, Retail Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Assistant Kitchen Manager. Apply here.

Jimmy Buffett’s latest Margaritaville restaurant will open at Destiny USA in Syracuse, New York this Monday (Feb 2nd).

The chain’s iconic 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar is there, along with a giant margarita blender. Nearby is the Margaritaville store.

The venue’s live performance stage is behind the store, complete with an “Oswego Harbor” lighthouse.

The main dining area extends past the stage to the venue’s other watering hole: the Tiki Bar, perched on the edge of Destiny’s canyon.

Margaritaville’s grand opening event starts at 9:15 a.m. Monday. A ribbon cutting will take place at around 10:15 a.m.

The venue opens immediately after the event. It will feature the chain’s signature margaritas and coastal-style food.
