Margaritaville to Open in Phoenix Next Summer

Jimmy Buffett will open a Margaritaville Cafe in Phoenix, Arizona next summer. The 20,000 square-foot restaurant will be located in Glendale’s massive shopping and entertainment plaza – The Westgate City Center.

Local Parrot Heads will be rejoicing over Westgate City Center’s newest addition.

Laid-back songster Jimmy Buffett is bringing one of his Margaritaville Cafés to the massive shopping and entertainment plaza that opens in Glendale next week.

The two-story restaurant, which will feature patio seating and a balcony overlooking the center’s $5 million Bellagio-like water fountain, is set to open next summer.

“TTWWY” Tumbles in Second Week on Charts

Buffett’s new album “Take The Weather With You” tumbles its second week on the charts to No. 13 with just under 52,000 in sales. That’s a 57% drop from last week when the album debuted at No. 4 with 120,592 copies sold.

In addition, the album slips to No. 3 on the country charts behind Dierks Bentley’s “Long Trip Alone” and George Strait’s “It Just Comes Natural.”

Grand Cayman Margaritaville Open For Business

Jimmy Buffett’s newest Margaritaville opened on Grand Cayman last week. Cayman Net News has an article on the opening: “Margaritaville opens in Grand Cayman”.

The newest attraction in Grand Cayman opened its doors to the public last week and reportedly turned into an instant hit.

Following on the success of Margaritaville in other resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico, and the US, George Town, with its regular influx of cruise ship passengers, has been chosen for the latest addition to the chain of themed restaurants originally created and made famous by the singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

Manager Arthur Screaton said the place had been a success from the moment the doors opened. He pointed out that the facilities are not just targeted at cruise shippers but are also ideal for long-stay visitors and residents looking for somewhere different to go in the evenings.

Article on Grand Cayman Margaritaville

The Caymanian Compass has an article on the Margaritaville that is being constructed on Grand Cayman:

Construction is nearing completion, which should allow for Margaritaville to open within a month.

“We’re shooting for early September,” said General Manager Arthur Screaton.

Margaritaville will take up some 15,000 square feet of space, which will accommodate 642 people, including about 200 in the nightclub, Mr. Screaton said.

Jamaican companies Margaritaville Caribbean and Chukka Caribbean Adventures are the latest addition to the US$2 billion expansion planned for the Turks and Caicos Islands over the next two years.

Both properties valued at US$4 million and US$1.5 million respectively, were officially unveiled at the Carnival Cruise Centre in Grand Turk on Friday, by the island’s Chief Minister Michael Misick.

Margaritaville Grand Turk, the first Caribbean project outside of Jamaica, joins 10 Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville locations in the U.S. The new Turks and Caicos restaurant provides both visitors and residents of Grand Turk with an unforgettable experience. This two-storey restaurant and bar boasts not only a swim-up pool bar, but an additional upper-level deck-bar and stage for daily live entertainment.

After preparing the Grand Turk location in five incredible months, the Margaritaville team now has two months left to prepare for another significant occasion: the opening of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Grand Cayman this August.
