Buffett to Play Show in St. John’s, Canada

Fresh off a couple of shows in Canada, Jimmy Buffett has announced that he’ll head even further into the north to play a show in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Big-time entertainer Jimmy Buffett will be at Holy Heart for one night only: September 17.

The performer-extraordinaire will bring his “Son of a Son of a Sailor High Tide” tour to Newfoundland and Labrador. The Son of Son of a Sailor LP was released in 1978, the title song being written about Buffett’s grandfather. That LP also included the hit Cheeseburger in Paradise.

There are indications that Buffett’s family has Newfoundland roots on the southwest coast. Buffett’s grandfather was a sailor who was born in Rose Blanche but later moved to Cape Breton.
