He’s made cameos in several movies, but could a television sitcom guest appearance be in Jimmy Buffett’s future?

The producers and writers of NBC’s Thursday night show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ starring SNL alum Amy Poehler, want Jimmy to play the father of one of the characters:

Cast member Aziz Ansari aimed high and shared his desire for Usher to be revealed as Tom’s brother — preferably making his grand entrance by being lowered dramatically in from the ceiling. When talk turned to the oft-mentioned but elusive Mayor Gunderson, Poehler admitted that she would love for Bill Murray to play the part. There was also talk of Jimmy Buffett being brought in to portray Leslie’s father — executive producer Michael Schur revealed that there’s still a note in the writer’s room that simply reads ‘Jimmy Buffett’, since they’re still aspiring towards him.

According to TMZ, Jimmy Buffett has filed papers to trademark the term “Tiger Blood” for vodka and energy drinks:

“According to documents filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and obtained by TMZ  — Margaritaville Enterprises LLC, owned by the singer, filed two applications on March 15 to trademark “Tiger Blood” for use in vodka and energy drinks.

As TMZ previously reported — Tiger Blood is Charlie Sheen’s codename for his mangosteen-infused fruit smoothie,  Xango juice. 

Interesting … if Jimmy’s application goes through, Charlie won’t be able to capitalize on what he made famous — but then again, there’s more to life than vodka and energy drinks.”

Last month Charlie Sheen quoted from “A Pirate Looks at Forty” in an interview, saying “love me some Jimmy Buffett.”

Tickets go on sale this morning at 10 am ET for the June show at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey.
