The ad confirms that Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will make their annual trek to Alpine on Saturday, June 26th.

An ad in Sunday’s Dallas Morning News confirms that Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will perform at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas (northern suburb of Dallas) on Saturday, May 22nd.

Jimmy Buffett got a mention on Thursday night’s episode of the award-winning NBC comedy “30 Rock.”

During the show, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) appeared on the fictional CNBC program “The Hot Box” with Avery Jessup (Elizabeth Banks). During a rapid fire question session, Jessup asked Donaghy who is number one on his speed dial. He said “BlackBerry: Warren Buffett. iPhone: Jimmy Buffett.”

Jimmy is referenced from time to time on television programs. Last year he was mentioned on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and on The Colbert Report. And in 2008 he was lampooned by South Park.

In January it was announced that Jimmy Buffett would open his first Canadian Margaritaville Cafe in Niagara Falls this summer:

Margaritaville Canada Ltd. has signed a lease with the owners of the Skylon Tower to open the 14,000-square-foot, two-story restaurant on Fallsview Avenue, across from the Niagara Fallsview Casino and Resort.

The restaurant is moving into the site of the former Wolfgang Puck’s Cafe, which closed last summer.

Margaritaville Canada is investing “several million” into the Niagara Falls project, Davidson said. The restaurant is the first of several the Calgary-based company has planned for Canada. The company has the exclusive Margaritaville rights for Canada.
