The 2009 Summerzcool Tour came to an end Tuesday night as Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band played a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Buffett played a special encore with Last Man Standing and a solo version of Defying Gravity to close out the show.

If history holds true, expect Buffett’s 2010 tour dates to be announced sometime in January or February. But we won’t be in total Buffett blackout… his new album Buffet Hotel hits stores December 8th.

Jimmy Buffett appeared on the Today Show Monday morning to promote his upcoming album “Buffet Hotel”:

The show was back on the road tonight as Jimmy and the band continued the Summerzcool Tour with a show in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The set list was the same as recent shows except for a few songs. “Boat Drinks” made it’s first appearance since October 25, 2008 in Las Vegas by replacing “Mañana” 5 songs in. “Nautical Wheelers” also closed the show.

First announced in 2007, the Margaritaville Casino project in Biloxi has been on hold for over a year and now Harrah’s Entertainment is saying they may need partners to complete the construction:

Harrah’s Entertainment may need financial partners if it wants to build the Margaritaville Casino in Biloxi with the size and scope originally intended, says a company official.

R. Scott Barber, Harrah’s mid-South regional president, tells The Sun Herald that while Harrah’s is exploring a number of opportunities, there was nothing new to report.

Barber was in Biloxi for Friday’s meeting of the Mississippi Gaming Commission.

Original plans called for a $700 million resort with 798 rooms, a full-service spa, a pool/deck area with cabanas, bar and tropical landscaping, all on 46 acres of land south of U. S. Highway 90.
