Jimmy Buffett appeared on the Steve Dahl radio show on 105.9 FM in Chicago on Friday 8/4. The entire transcript of the show can be seen here.

Some highlights:

Jimmy talked about the Cubs loss and the Miami Heat. He also went on to talk about how referee’s uniforms bother him.

They talked about the Live in Wrigley DVD which took 3 months to put together.

Jimmy has been videotaping every concert this season.

Jimmy and his son are going to Lollapolooza to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Jimmy tries to write a page a day on a new book of short stories he’s working on.

Jimmy said he struggled for airplay and got his most airplay ever from LTC.

The new album is titled “Nothing But a Breeze” and features Jake Shimabukuro, Mark Knopfler, Bill Payne and Sonny Landreth, slated to be out in October. The new album was recorded in Key West, Mussle Shoals & London.

Jimmy’s playing Vegas October 21st and 27th, and he and the band will probably do some small shows to “warm up.”

Jimmy told a story of a show with the Dead where they played from 5- 11 am, Jerry Jeff Walker played for an hour, and he followed with 2 hours after that. “Breakfast consisted of acid and a peach daquiri.”
