According to a tweet from the Cleveland Parrothead Club, Jimmy Buffett will make a tour stop in Detroit, Michigan this June:

Parrotheads in Indianapolis were holding out hope for a late announcement of Buffett’s usual tour stop at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater but the Indy Star reports that it’s not going happen:

For the first time in 25 years, the summer concert season in Noblesville will be free of fins, volcanoes and cheeseburgers.

Jimmy Buffett, whose perennial summer tours have been a tradition in Noblesville for decades, is skipping Indianapolis on his 2015 “Workin’ and Playin'” tour, sources in Buffett’s camp confirm. Buffett has played Indy at least once every summer since 1990 (and, we should note for political purposes, generally announces his tour dates in January or February).

Dustin Duncan, membership director of the PHIndy Parrothead Club, says his group traditionally schedules a charity event prior to Buffett’s local stop. “We haven’t made any solid plans this year, since we’ve been in limbo hoping Jimmy would announce a show,” he said. Duncan said his group would head to Cincinnati this summer instead.

Parrotheads up for a road trip can still investigate that June 23 show at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center and June 27 at the First Midwest Bank Amphtitheater in Tinley Park, Ill. shows. Tickets for both shows remain available.

Jimmy Buffett kicked off a Florida tour swing on Thursday night with a show at The Coral Sky Amphitheater in Buffett’s part-time hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida. The show was considered a continuation of 2014’s This One’s For You Tour.

Jimmy Buffett was in Tallahassee Tuesday morning and performed an acoustic set with Robert Greenidge and Mac McAnally as part of the Everglades Action Day rally at the state capitol.

Environmentalists from across Florida are expected to make their way to the Capitol to push for efforts to save the Everglades, including a proposed state purchase of thousands of acres of land south of Lake Okeechobee owned by U.S. Sugar.

Eric Eikenberg, CEO of the Everglades Coalition, said the organization is asking lawmakers to purchase 46,800 acres of land to store and treat water from Lake Okeechobee, which is polluted by farming activities. Right now, the U.S. Corps of Engineers diverts billions of gallons of water from the lake to the west and east, into the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee rivers, causing toxic algae outbreaks, health warnings, fish kills, job losses and depressed home values, he said.

By buying the land, the water could return to its natural flow south, recharging the aquifer that supplies drinking water to eight million Floridians. Buying the land would cost an estimated $350 million to $500 million. An option for the state to buy the land expires on Oct. 12.

On Wednesday night in Key West, Jimmy Buffett played a special show for nearly three hours with a set list primarily composed of songs voted on by fans.
