Diamond Comparison: VS1 vs. VS2

Post by Foxxii » Fri Sep 20, 2024 3:19 pm

Hi forum members, I am in the process of choosing a diamond and have come across a question about the clarity of the stones. In particular, I am interested in the difference between VS1 and VS2 category diamonds. I know that both of these are considered good, but how noticeable are the differences in quality? How might this affect the appearance and value of the diamond? And any advice on choosing between these two categories? Really want to understand what to look for when buying so I don't make the wrong choice!

Hi. This is a really important question and I'm glad you brought it up. VS1 and VS2 diamonds belong to the good clarity group, but they do have some differences. VS1 diamonds have minimal inclusions that are almost impossible to see with the naked eye, even under magnification. Whereas inclusions in VS2 diamonds can be more noticeable and therefore can affect the overall appearance of the stone. When it comes to price, VS1 diamonds are usually more expensive as their quality is higher and they are more desirable in the market. It is also important to consider the color and cut of the stone as this also greatly affects its appeal. For a more in-depth look, I recommend you visit this blog at https://labrilliante.com/about-us/labri ... ity-vs1-v2 . There you will find useful tips and advice on how to choose between these two categories of diamonds, so that your choice is as informed as possible!

Lab-grown diamonds are man-made stones created in controlled conditions that have the same physical and chemical properties as natural diamonds. The main difference is their origin: natural ones take millions of years to form in the earth, while lab-grown ones can be created in just a few weeks. This makes them more affordable, and they are often considered a more environmentally friendly choice.
