Buffett’s Comments About “Hawaii Five-0’s” Ending Get Corrected

August 6th, 2016

When Jimmy Buffett appeared on the Today Show last week, he sat for a short interview where he said that he would be reprising his role as helicopter pilot Frank Bama on Hawaii Five-0 in its upcoming season that would be its last. But showrunner Peter M. Lenkov quickly shot down Buffett’s comments that the next season would be the last:

The executive producer took to his official Twitter account and said, “Hey @jimmybuffett — whoever gave you that info is wrong. Bama is alive and well… For many many MORE seasons. Good luck on the tour.”

Despite the initially shocking news, Lenkov appears to have taken everything with a happy disposition since it did seem like just an honest mistake. Lenkov then proceeded to have a conversation with TV Line to further explain things so as to straighten out the misunderstanding. “I don’t know where that came from,” he said. “It was early in the morning and I think they were giving him margaritas or something!”

As for the future of the show, fans can take a breather as the producer stated that in his opinion, they still have at least one more season left on top of the upcoming installment. With that in mind, there are still a lot of stories left to tackle in the long running crime-busting thriller.

“Hawaii Five-0” season 7 will debut on Sept. 23 and will continue to air every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on CBS

Will Arnett Talks “Margaritaville”

March 11th, 2016

TV star Will Arnett has a new show on Netflix and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly he talks about getting Buffett’s permission to use “Margaritaville”:

Arnett talks about how Malkmus scored scenes of the leading man riding around Venice beach on his bike, writing an “unbeatable’ theme song, and also covering the Jimmy Buffett tropical hit “Margaritaville.”

“I got to ask Jimmy if [using his song] was cool, which of course he said yeah because he’s rad,” Arnett recounted. “And then I got to play it on my iPhone for Jimmy — Steve’s cover — and I was like stuck in this absurd reality.”

Luckily, getting in touch with Jimmy Buffett was actually very easy for Arnett, who admits to actually have been living in the legendary singer’s house at the time.
