Buffett to Guest Star on Hawaii Five-O

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jimmy Buffett will make a guest appearance on the CBS show Hawaii Five-O this November:

EW has learned exclusively that the singer/songwriter/avid aviator will guest star in an upcoming episode of Hawaii Five-0. Buffett will play a veteran pilot who’s a pal of Lt. Commander Joe White (Terry O’Quinn), and he helps Five-0 rescue one of its own from a sticky situation.

It won’t be the first time that Buffett plays a pilot on screen. He played one in the 1995 film “Congo.”

High Praise for Buffett from Zac Brown

The Zac Brown Band performed in New York City Friday morning as part of the Today Show Summer Concert Series. Before performing “Knee Deep,” Zac Brown offered up high praise for Jimmy Buffett:

“I think he’s one of the best American songwriters that have ever lived. We’ve been covering his song forever, and getting to actually collaborate with my heroes has been some of the biggest milestones in my career.”

Buffett and Zac Brown Band Win at CMT Music Awards

The CMT Music Awards were held Wednesday night in Nashville and Jimmy Buffett won the one award that he was nominated for: CMT Performance of the Year.

Buffett and the Zac Brown Band were nominated for their CMT Crossroads episode performance of “Margaritaville.”

CMT Music Awards Tonight

The 2011 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Kid Rock, air tonight live from Nashville at 8 pm ET.

Jimmy Buffett and the Zac Brown Band are nominated in the CMT Performance of the Year category for their collaboration on last year’s CMT Crossroads episode.

The CMT Performance of the Year category is for a musical performance on a television show, series or variety special on CMT.

Here are the nominees in the category:

CMT announced their nominees for the 2011 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday and Jimmy Buffett earned a nomination in the CMT Performance of the Year category for his CMT Crossroads episode with the Zac Brown Band.

The CMT Performance of the Year category is for a musical performance on a television show, series or variety special on CMT.
