Buffett Surprises Guests at Surf Lodge

According to Page Six, Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance at the Hamptons Surf Lodge over the weekend:

Summer in the Hamptons is still going for island rocker Jimmy Buffett — who surprised guests at Surf Lodge last weekend by getting onstage during a Wyclef Jean gig.

Buffett performed “Margaritaville,” changing the lyrics to center on Montauk, with Jean on bongos.

Buffett also referenced hotspot owner Jayma Cardoso by shouting, “Those Brazilian women gave me too much tequila!”

Buffett Playing Rally Tonight for Gwen Graham

Here are the details for Jimmy Buffett’s get-out-the-vote rally for Florida governor candidate Gwen Graham:

On Thursday night, the legendary Florida singer/songwriter will host a get-out-the-vote concert for Democratic candidate for governor Gwen Graham, and it’s free and open to the public.

The concert is at the ArtsPark at Young Circle amphitheater in Hollywood. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m., according to Graham’s campaign.

Buffett Endorses Graham in Florida, Will Hold Rally

Jimmy Buffett has endorsed Democrat Gwen Graham in the Florida governor race and will hold a rally for her.

Legendary Singer/Songwriter/Author and Florida icon Jimmy Buffett announced today that he is hosting a Get Out The Vote Concert for Gwen Graham.

Buffett, a long-standing advocate of Florida’s environment and quality of life is committed to helping Gwen win the Florida Governor’s race and follow in the footsteps of her father, Governor and U.S Senator Bob Graham.

“Like her Dad, Gwen will put the interests of everyday Floridians first. She has a heart for people and a passion for the Sunshine state. She’ll protect our precious natural environment, ensure we have strong public schools and affordable health care. It’s been too long since we have had a Governor for all the people. For that reason, I am supporting my friend, Democrat Gwen Graham, for governor and I encourage ya’ll to do the same” Buffett said.

Buffett will be playing a Get Out the Vote Concert for Gwen on August 23 in South Florida. More details will be forthcoming.

“Jimmy isn’t just a legendary musician, he is also a dedicated environmentalist who has worked with my family for years to preserve Florida’s natural treasures,” Graham said. “I am proud to have earned his vote on Election Day – come that Tuesday it’ll be alright.”

Watch Buffett’s Performance on ‘A Capitol Fourth’

Jimmy Buffett performed Wednesday night on PBS’ “A Capitol Fourth” program from Washington, DC. The cast of ‘Escape to Margaritaville’ performed a medley of songs from the musical with Jimmy joining them at the end to perform “Margaritaville.” He later joined the Beach Boys for a couple of songs.

As if The Beach Boys performing at this year’s A Capitol Fourth on PBS wasn’t enough of a treat itself, the band decided to collaborate with special guests Jimmy Buffett and John Stamos for a medley of hits last night (July 4).

The stars had clear chemistry on stage together, not missing a beat. The former Full House star rocked out on a red, white, and blue electric guitar, while Buffett looked relaxed as ever while strumming an acoustic guitar on the last two tracks.

Buffett to Perform on ‘A Capitol Fourth’

Jimmy Buffett will perform on the PBS Independence Day program ‘A Capitol Fourth’:

“A Capitol Fourth,” the annual PBS concert on the Fourth of July, will showcase Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys, the Temptations, gospel superstar CeCe Winans and violinist Joshua Bell this year.

John Stamos returns as host for the telecast at 8 p.m. on the nation’s 242nd birthday, the program announced Thursday.

Opera great Renée Fleming will perform “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from “Carousel” to honor service men and women. She is starring in the current Broadway revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.

Other performers include artist Pentatonix, country singer-songwriter Luke Combs and “American Idol” alum Lauren Alaina. Additional performers will be announced.

The National Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of conductor Jack Everly in the concert from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

Buffett will perform with the Broadway cast of “Escape to Margaritaville,” which will start a national tour.

This year will be the 38th annual broadcast of “A Capitol Fourth,” which concludes with the traditional rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” with live cannon fire supplied by the U.S. Army Presidential Salute Battery.

The concert can be heard live in stereo over NPR member stations nationwide, and it will be live-streamed on PBS, You Tube, Facebook and www.pbs.org/a-capitol-fourth, It will be available as Video on Demand from July 4 to July 18, 2018.
