Buffett Kicks Off Tour Leg in Louisville

December 1st, 2013

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band went back on the road Saturday night, playing Louisville for the second straight year.

The set list was similar to other Songs From St. Somewhere shows. View the full set list here.

The Courier Journal has a review of the show: “Jimmy Buffett, Parrotheads turn Yum! Center show into a beach blanket drinking party”

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band delivered more than two hours of party music, and the Parrotheads obliged in grand, two-fisted tradition. Everything was about creating a laid-back, buzzed-on-the-beach vibe, which was personified by guy fans wearing plastic grass skirts and Buffett going barefoot.

Buffett has four shows remaining this year: Minneapolis, Tulsa, Little Rock, and Honolulu. There’s still time to get tickets!

Buffett Plays Intimate Show in San Diego

October 18th, 2013

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band played an intimate show on Thursday night at the 600-capacity Belly Up in Solana Beach.

Thursday evening was a big night at one of San Diego’s oldest and best known clubs. Hundreds of fans packed the Belly Up in Solana Beach to see Jimmy Buffett perform. San Diego 6 went out to talk to some of the “Parrot Heads” who began lining up hours before the concert began.

“We party with a purpose is our motto. It’s just kind of what he stands for, you know helping each other,” said self-described Parrot Head Gail Folsom. Like many of the fans standing in line, Folsom had seen Buffett many times. But never in a place like the Belly Up. Buffett typically sells out stadiums that seat tens of thousands. The Belly Up holds a total of 600 people. “I’m really excited cause this is like the closest I’ll ever be to Jimmy Buffett I think,” Folsom said.

Here’s a shot of the set list from The Margarillas:

Buffett Wraps Tour Leg in Detroit

July 21st, 2013

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band wrapped up the July tour swing on Saturday night in Detroit. It was the second year in a row that Buffett played Comerica Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers.

View the set list for the show here.

The Songs From St. Somewhere Tour will resume in mid-August with shows in Bristow VA, Wantagh NY, and East Troy WI. There are also a few fall dates scheduled. View all the dates and get your tickets now.

The Oakland Press has a review of the show: “REVIEW: Jimmy Buffett, Jackson Browne charm audience at Detroit’s Comerica Park”

Weather isn’t all the Motor City shared with Key West this week. On Saturday, it had Jimmy Buffett.

An at or near-capacity crowd of Parrotheads filled Comerica Park for Buffet’s annual visit. They were a buzz-copping army that invaded in a uniform of print shirts, leis, sunglasses and headwear that ranged from foam shark fins to stuffed shellfish of varying species.

“You can talk about the shark hats and the Parrotheads,” opening act Jackson Browne said of the breezy, cocktail blender-centric culture surrounding Buffett. “It really doesn’t describe it.”

Tailgating began well before noon for many fans, and transplanted sand helped make a parking lot north of the stadium “Margaritaville Park,” ground zero for pre-show booze, music and revelry.
