Unflappable Parrot Heads Gather In Key West

November 4th, 2005

When Jimmy Buffett wrote and recorded “Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season” in 1974, he couldn’t have anticipated that Hurricane Wilma would threaten plans for a gathering of about 3,000 of his “Parrot Head” fans 31 years later.

This week, Parrot Heads from all over the country flocked to Key West for their 14th annual “Meeting of the Minds” convention.

Although some venues have changed, the convention is featuring a traditional schedule of beachside parties, musical performances by Buffett band members and friends, and charitable activities.

Ask Jimmy!

January 17th, 2005

From Margaritaville.com:

Margaritaville looks at twenty. We’re asking ourselves how we got here ( we haven’t a clue ) and we’re asking the Big Guy for his remarks and recollections regarding the last two decades. Now you have a chance as well. Jimmy wondered what the Parrot Heads would like to ask, not your run of the mill “did you pay the Mini-Mart back” type of question, but rather something that would really make him pause and think about.

This is your opportunity to ask the question that bothers you so. While we can not reply to all, we will forward the queries that we feel are of interest to the majority of Parrot Heads.

Follow this link to Ask Jimmy.
