Jimmy Designs A Pro Bowl Play

The NFC ran a Jimmy Buffett designed play in the Pro Bowl on Saturday according to an article in USA Today:

Tiki Barber’s farewell touchdown came on a 1-yard second-quarter run. His lone disappointment was throwing an interception to the Ravens’ Ed Reed on a first-quarter, halfback option pass designed by singer Jimmy Buffett when NFC coach Sean Payton was out on Buffett’s boat a few days before Super Bowl XLI in Miami.

Review Of Thursday Night’s Orlando Show

The Orlando Sentinel has a review of Thursday night’s concert at the Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida: “Buffett pleases, which isn’t surprising”

There aren’t too many surprises at a Jimmy Buffett concert anymore, but the people in the grass skirts and feathered headgear keep coming.

Near the end of his generous, highly spirited concert on Thursday at the Amway Arena, Buffett did a nice job of explaining the reason as he offered his own thanks for such enduring fan adulation.

“I always liked coming here,” Buffett said of Orlando. “I know what I’m gonna get.”

Buffett Gets CMT Music Awards Nomination

Jimmy Buffett has been nominated for a CMT Music Award in the category Wide Open Country Video Of The Year for his video “Bama Breeze.”

This year introduces the new Wide Open country video of the year category, nominees for which include Jimmy Buffett’s “Bama Breeze,” Sheryl Crow and Sting’s “Always on Your Side” and Willie Nelson’s “You Don’t Know Me.” The honor is intended for “artists who stretch the boundaries of mainstream country music,” according to CMT.

Here are the other nominees in the category:

Alison Krauss and Union Station – “If I Didn’t Know Any Better”
Jack Ingram – “Love You”
Johnny Cash – “God’s Gonna Cut you Down”
Pat Green – “Dixie Lullaby”

Hemisphere Dancer Made of Snow

The Winter Carnival opened in St. Paul today (1/26), and sculptures normally created
in ice have been made of giant snow mounds similar to sand castle building.

This is the Margaritaville sculpture that includes palm trees and the Hemisphere
