Fins Up Bracelet For Katrina Relief

September 19th, 2005

From Margaritaville.com:

The recent devistation caused by Hurricane Katrina has obviously deeply affected all of us at Margaritaville. Not only are Jimmy’s roots deeply tied to the Gulf coast, but our own Margaritaville family was personally impacted – the countless employees from our cafe and store in New Orleans as well as all of the fine folks who reguarly patronized us, brought us our supplies, delivered our merchandise, and sweeped our streets. We feel priviledged to be a part of such a wonderful community.

To that end, we’re announcing our “Fins Up For Charity” program. It’s a chance for Parrotheads to help us make a difference and, at the same time, show their Parrothead pride.

By purchasing one of our “Fins Up” bracelets, all proceeds from the sale will go directly to charity. That money will be used to help fulfill the continuing needs of the people of the Gulf Coast during this difficult time.

What “charity” will my money go to?
At this point, The American Red Cross, because we believe that they’re the best suited to assist in the current crisis. But we see the “Fins Up For Charity” program as a long term solution, and depending on the needs and the time, down the road we may donate to a different charity or a variety of charities.

Thank you for helping to make a difference and… fins up!
