1984 Summer Tour ’84 TOUR

1984 saw a return to form with the standard summer tour in the standard venues. Unique shows include a show in Australia in January, three shows to benefit Manatees in Daytona Beach in April, and three solo shows in West Palm Beach in December. The summer tour featured a growing number of stops at theme Parks. Two songs from the new album, which was to be called “Gulf and Western Music” at the time, where performed, “Knees of My Heart” and “Ragtop Day.” No doubt the biggest thing Jimmy did all year was sing the National Anthem at the October 2 Cubs Playoff game, in memory of Jimmy’s late friend and huge Cubs fan Steve Goodman.
