1979 YOU HAD TO BE THERE/VOLCANO TOUR

1979 saw Jimmy continuing to headline and adding even bigger shows to his tour. The year started with the “You Had to be There” Tour that saw Jimmy play his normal run of colleges in the South and theatre’s on the West Coast before concluding in April. May and June where spent recording and mixing the new LP “Volcano” on Montserrat. Late June saw Jimmy and the Reefers beginning the ‘Volcano’ tour where Jimmy hit all the usual Amphitheatre’s. At the end of September Jimmy went to Hawaii for the first time as the opening act for the Eagles at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. The year closed with another run through the south.
