1974 ACOUSTIC TOUR

1974 saw Jimmy touring more than ever and with plenty of new material to work with. The success of “Come Monday” got help launched his first year long tour. Jimmy had two new albums by the end of the year, “Living and Dying in 3/4 Time” and “A1A,” to go along with 1973’s “A White Sport Coat and A Pink Crustacean.” Jimmy’s busy year included two radio broadcasts on KSAN-FM from the Record Plant in Sausalito, CA, a broadcast on WHOA-FM from the Exit/In in Nashville, TN, and a broadcast from Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. The radio exposure helped Jimmy’s ticket sales and to get his name out to the public. Most of the time Jimmy was booked in the southeast in small venues where his acoustic shows went over well. He also got the opportunity to open for some established artists in some odd bills that had Jimmy fronting Rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Frank Zappa. Most of the shows were loose with no band to answer too however Roger Bartlett began joining Jimmy on acoustic guitar starting in the fall to help Jimmy’s shows sound bigger as his venues continued to grow.
