Discover Boating, the U.S. recreational boating industry’s non-profit awareness program, recently polled its Facebook fans for their top boating songs and Jimmy Buffett’s “A Pirate Looks at Forty” topped the list. He also placed at number 5 and 6:

Buffett Scores Second #1 with “Knee Deep”

Congratulations to Jimmy Buffett on another number one hit! “Knee Deep,” the duet with the Zac Brown Band, rose to the top of the Billboard Country Songs chart this week, giving Buffett his second number one (“It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” was the first back in the summer of 2003).

Gulf Concert Earns ‘VH1 Do Something’ Nomination

Jimmy Buffett’s Gulf Coast concert that was broadcast live on CMT is up for a VH1 Do Something Award.

The Do Somethings honor charitable events and causes in several categories, including concerts, comedians, cities, movie stars, and festivals.

In the Concerts category, Buffett is nominated along with the following events:

  • Kokua For Japan Benefit Concert – Jack Johnson & Willie Nelson
  • Taylor Swift’s Speak Now Tour to Benefit Tornado Victims
  • Music Builds: The CMT Disaster Relief Concert – Various Country Artists
