Jimmy inducted into Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame

Jimmy Buffett was inducted into the Mohegan Sun Walk Of Fame on Thursday, just hours before taking the stage to play for a sold-out crowd at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

During the induction ceremony Buffett said “I kept hearing about this great place Mohegan Sun and so I had to come out and check it out for myself, so I came, and I keep coming back, here’s to many more great shows!”

Buffett plays concert in Uncasville

The 2007 Bama Breeze tour continued Thursday night at the Mohegan Sun Casino Uncasville, Connecticut.

Notable songs from the set list included “Off to See the Lizard,” “Growing Older But Not Up,” and the first full band “Door Number Three” in 32 years!

Buffett gets CMA nomination

Jimmy Buffett, along with George Strait and Alan Jackson, has earned a CMA Award nomination for the live version of “Hey Good Lookin'” from the Live at Texas Stadium album.

Here are the other nominations for Music Event of the Year:

Article on tailgating at this weekend’s Gillette show

The Sun Chronicle has an article on this weekend’s concert at Gillette Stadium:

Police say Jimmy Buffett fans without tickets to Sunday’s Gillette Stadium concert will be turned away from the parking lots.

Police also will order the lots opened at the normal 3:30 p.m. time – not earlier, as was the case at another concert last month – to discourage uncontrolled partying.

Fans without tickets but a passion for partying are being blamed for many of the widespread drunken parking lot brawls from a July 28 country music festival at the Route 1 stadium.

JB attends Katrina Benefit in the Hamptons

The Nashua Telegraph reports that Jimmy attended a Hurricane Katrina Benefit in the Hamptons over the weekend:

The couple (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) enjoyed a culinary upgrade Saturday when they attended a fundraiser at the home of Tribeca Film Festival co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in Watermill, N.Y.

The Daily News reported that Pitt and Jolie left the kids with nannies and helicoptered to the Hamptons for the event, where they were joined by model Christie Brinkley, actress Ellen Barkin and beach balladeer Jimmy Buffett. The dinner was a benefit for Pitt’s Make it Right project, which is focused on rebuilding New Orleans’ Ninth Ward with environmentally friendly homes.
