April 4th, 2007

The February 10th benefit concert in Tallahassee, Florida raised $660,000 for the United Way of the Big Bend.

The United Way of the Big Bend will be able to distribute more money to its agencies than it ever has before. The nonprofit announced Wednesday the community raised $7,798,830 at its 2006 campaign Celebration held at the University Center Club, according to a release. “This was just a banner year for the United Way,” said spokeswoman Heather Mitchell.
Susie Busch-Transou, 2006 campaign chair, “came with fresh, new ideas,” Mitchell said. “She was dynamic and awesome to work with.”

The United Way sponsored Jimmy Buffett concert raised $660,000 in just one night.
