Jimmy Buffett will play a concert at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, September 19th at 8 pm with the proceeds going towards Kinky Friedman’s gubernatorial campaign.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Paramount box office, at www.gettix.net or at (866) 443-8349.

Tickets will go for $300, $200 and $100 and are limited to four per customer.

And according to a June 7th article in the Dallas Star-Telegram, Buffett will play a second fundraiser show, also in September.

On September 20th, 2005, Madison Square Garden hosted FROM THE BIG APPLE TO THE BIG EASY, New York City’s Concert for the Gulf Coast, to support the long-term relief and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina. The live concert featuered New Orleans musical legends joined onstage with many of music’s biggest names.

Sons of Sailors, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, blend musicianship with a true saltwater attitude to become the premier Buffett band in the area, and they will be featured playing live in Fan Plaza prior to the game. Meanwhile, a “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” sing-off and a Name That Buffett Tune contest will take place nearby, and related food & drink specials will be available throughout the ballpark.

Many minor league teams have Jimmy Buffett Nights, but it’s rare for a major league team to do so.
