Wal-Mart Show Not Open to Public

May 20th, 2005

I received an e-mail from the Senior Communications Manager for Wal-Mart today. It turns out that the June 2nd concert at Razorback Stadium in Fayettville Arkansas will not be open to the public.

Contrary to misinformation communicated by some media outlets, this concert is not open to shareholders or to the general public.

Outdoor concert attendance will be limited to 25,000 Wal-Mart associates and specially invited guests. Wal-Mart associates will be allowed to bring one guest each.

“We designed Radio Margaritaville after the old pirate radio stations that sat offshore and played what they wanted,” Buffett said in the news release.

It is not known exactly when RM will start broadcasting on Sirius. Their website only says that it will debut this summer.
