Rolling Stone reports that Jimmy Buffett came in at number five on their annual list of music top fifty earners. Buffett rose 12 places this year, bringing in 36.5 million. In 2003 he came in at number 17. Ahead of him were Prince, Madonna, Metallica, and Elton John.

The article also mentions that Buffett’s Margaritaville chain of retail stores, nightclubs and restaurants generates an eight-figure income.

“Trip Around The Sun” has jumped to No. 1 on the CMT Top 20 video countdown. The Jimmy Buffett/Martina McBride collaboration is the second No. 1 video from License To Chill. “Hey Good Lookin'” went to No. 1 in mid-October on CMT’s Top 20.

According to Mailboat Records, Jimmy will be appearing on the Conan O’Brien Show this Thursday, February 3rd (tonight), where he will talk about his novel, “A Salty Piece of Land.”
