Looks like I'm going to be able to go (I missed the Final Four show). Anyone else going?

I'm really hoping he does something way off the charts different for this show.

He mentioned before the Omaha show (it was the fist show where he started the encores with three acoustic numbers), that he was gearing up for the acoustic show at Jazz Fest. He was playing some really old, cool songs in those encores, so my bet would be it's one helluva show! Have fun!

It was good. JB had a lot of fun. Ha ha - quite a few flat notes but otherwise a pretty good set list! I can't remember it all but I recall him doing 6 or 7 SYKBH, two from LTC, the new one and a few old ones.

Perhaps the first show ever he has not done BEG, Southern Cross, Fins, Cheeseburger and...OPH.

He did do, as I recall:
Wino And I Know
SOAS - he imitated, hilariously, Nadirah 'singing' the high part
CILCIA
WDWGDAS
Pencil Thin Mustache
Piece Of Work
Hey Good Lookin'
APLAF
Serpentine
Fortune Teller
Pascagoula Run
Last Man Standing

I think he did Tin Cup Chalice but I've been listening to Encores lately and it may have just stuck in my head. That and I had some puff so my memory is not straight ha ha... He did put some song into WDWGDAS, I can never remember what it's called. Some old classic rock song. We got to hiiiiiiiiii somethin' somethin'.....

It was OK. A new song is sometimes difficult to discern when played acoustically. We know songs like Tin Cup etc have acoustic guitars in the studio recordings but aren't solely acoustic songs...so when he plays them strictly acoustic we know the song. Hope that makes sense.

Oh he also played Volcano and sang the original lyrics for the 'don't want to land' part with exception to the very last line.

This might be a dumb question but will it be broadcast on the Jazz Fest website or margradio?

No. For starters, it was an off-tour show; he's been known to drop even "Margaritaville" during off-tour shows. Secondly, even on tour BEG and SC are dropped at least once or twice. "Fins" I don't think has ever been dropped from a tour show, nor can I recall CIP being dropped either. OPH wasn't played at all during the 1988 and 1989 tours, plus only occasionally during 1997—but yeah, for the last 15 years it's pretty much been a standard. SOASOAS would occasionally be dropped too, however it's been played at every tour show since 2005—looks like Jimmy swapped the rates he plays WDWGD and SOASOAS.

Anyway, enough of my setlist-know-it-all-ism. Sounds like you went to a great show.

Well if you want to put it that way then yeah. I guess I meant in general as his cruise control set list has been for eons. Not sure why he bothered with Volcano and Margaritaville even.

It was fun. He had a blast. I had a blast. But it's not something I'd want on record. The flat notes he hit singing are jarring at the least and embarrassing at the most. One of those shows that will always be better live, in the moment, than captured and watchable/listenable.

Not as bad but similar to The Rolling Stones' Shine A Light movie/soundtrack. Horrible.
