Hello!

My first exposure to Jimmy Buffett was in 1981 at a concert in Mobile, AL. I have searched the tour dates here and elsewhere and can't find anything after July of that year. I am absolutely certain in was in the fall/winter of 1981 - between September and December at the very latest.

There is a concert listed in Mobile for The Homecoming Tour - November 5, 1982--but that can't be it as I was attending USA in the fall quarter of 1981 and went with my roomates to the concert.

it would mean a lot to me if anyone could find the date of that Mobile concert. One of the funnest concerts ever.

The 1982 Mobile date is actually one of the newest added, thanks to a poster on ebay. As for the show your looking for, maybe it was late '79? I know Jimmy did a Hurricane Benefit in Mobile in late '79, just don't know the actual date. My only suggestion on how to find the show is to check the Mobile Press-Register archives for that time, I'm sure they did a review.

I did search the Press Register archives a few years back but to no avail. I will try again, maybe its more comprehensive now than it was then.

I am absolutely certain it was between the end of September and December of 1981 (most likely in November-I remember attending Journey/Loverboy concert that year and that was on Halloween--fairly sure it was after that). It may have been an unscheduled performance or something like that, but I went with my college roomates from USA. We were invited by some girls, one of which I dated from just before the night of that concert until the following April. I sat out a year after attending USA and returned to school at TSU in Fall 1983.

I was probably drunk enough to have been arrested - too bad I wasn't as that might have given me another point of reference - lol .

The Press Register online archives only go back as far as 1993, so it hasn't been expanded any...

How will I ever sleep again....

I can vouch for this. I too attended this concert, and now I am trying to find some details about it. I was stationed in Pensacola at the time. I know it was some time between Oct. and Dec. of 1981.
Sit down concert, I even remember someone throwing a firecracker up on stage and JB replying "Hey know that $hit off, this ain't a Kiss concert!"
