The Dallas Morning News has an article on Jimmy supporting Kinky Friedman's gubernatorial run in Texas.

The word is that during a midnight call last week, the Margaritaville magnate committed to offer hefty financial backing to the Kinky campaign.

"All I want when you're governor is Port Aransas," Jimmy told Kinky.

"You sure you don't want Dallas?" Kinky countered.

"No, no," Jimmy said. "Port Aransas."
