Jimmy Buffett joined Jack Johnson on stage on Sunday night at Johnson’s show at the Charter One Pavillion in Chicago. Buffett came out and performed A Pirate Looks at Forty with Johnson for an encore.

Johnson’s song “The Horizon Has Been Defeated” has been a regular in Buffett’s set lists this summer, while “A Pirate Looks At Forty” is often played by Johnson at his shows.

The Salty Piece of Land Tour continues on Thursday with the first of two shows at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

The Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club is having a birthday!! We have a weekend full of great activities planned for September 9 and 10 to celebrate our 11th birthday! We will be taking over the Holiday Inn Harbourside Resort on Indian Rocks beach.

The festivities begin Friday night with live entertainment by the De’Leid Parrots starting at 6PM. There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Save the Manatee Club from 6-9PM outside at Jimmy Guana’s. What would become the most famous line in Buffett lore came in 1985 at a concert at TimberWolf Amphitheater at Kings Island. OK, maybe it was ’84 or even ’83. Hard to remember after all those margaritas and years of searching for lost shakers of salt.

“We know it was said here at Kings Island. Jimmy has said it was ’85, so that’s good enough,” said Tim Klaber, a veteran of some 60 Buffett shows.
